Kim R. Plattenburg Sr., 64, of East Stroudsburg, went to heaven to be with his mother on her birthday, Jan. 9, 2017.He was born on Sept. 11, 1952, in East Stroudsburg and was the son of the late William and Lorraine (Kammer) Plattenburg. He was the husband of Joann Plattenburg, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Kim Plattenburg Jr., Roger "Butch" Slocum, Holly Gilliland, David Slocum and Tracy Fuller; his special caregiver, Kathy Halterman; and 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother and best friend, William Plattenburg; sisters Nancy Nordmark and Joan Kresge; and many nieces and nephews.
Kim was an avid Eagles fan, always seen wearing his Eagles cap. He enjoyed doing puzzles and sudoku books. He was employed for many years with Asplundh Tree Service. Predeceasing him were a daughter, Christine Halterman; a granddaughter, Crystal Fuller; and his best bud, Stretch.
His wish was to be cremated with no services, but to help defray the cost of this, a monetary donation may be made to Darbi Dunning, 104 E. Broad St., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.

She was a member of East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, where she was a member of a Sunday school class and a teacher in the Sunday school primary department. She was a past president of the United Methodist Women. She was an auxiliary member and former auxiliary president of George N. Kemp American Legion Post 346, East Stroudsburg. She was past president of the Four County Council American Legion.
Survivors: Daughters, Janet Cramer of Gettysburg, Lydia Evans of Olyphant, Lackawanna County, Sherry Crawford and Josephine Counterman, both of East Stroudsburg, Carol Urban of Tannersville and Linda Drake of Stroudsburg; son, Arthur J. in England, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Stella Marie, and a son Paul.

EAST STROUDSBURG - Kathryn P. Bush, 81, of Stroudsburg R.D. 1, died Friday morning in Pocono Hospital. She was the widow of Stanley A. Bush.Born in East Stroudsburg, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Virgie (Frisbie) Plattenburg. She was a resident of Monroe County all of her lifetme.
She was a member of the ?ean Valley Bible Fellowship Church in Stroudsburg and the Over 60 club at the church.
She is survived by a daughter, Edna Singer of Delaware Water Gap; two sons, Stanley A. Bush of Germany, serving in the US Army, and Kenneth J. Bush of East Stroudsburg R.D. 3; two sisters, Virginia Brimer of East Stroudsburg and Helen Roue of Vineland, NJ; a brother, Clarence Plattenburg of East Stroudsburg; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home, East Stroudsburg, with the Rev. Phillip E. Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Delaware Water Gap Cemetery, Delaware Water Gap. A viewing will be held from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At the request of the family, memorial donations may be made to the General Ambulance Corps., 1100 Sunrise Drive, Stroudsburg, PA, or the Stroud Township Volunteer Fire Company, North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg, PA.
