He died on 26 Jan 1979 in Bellevue Hospital, New York City, NY and was buried on 31 Jan 1979 in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg, Monroe Co., PA. Barry married Rose De Franco.

Barry F. Plattenburg was christened at a Methodist Church of the Cherry Valley Methodist circuit.

In 1972 Barry was living at 111 Chestnut St., Rutherford, NJ. In 1976 he was still living in Rutherford.

Barry F. Plattenburg, 42, of 111 Chestnut St., Rutherford, NJ, died Friday in Bellevue Hospital, New York City, NY.

He was executive vice president for Borden International Chemical Co., New York City, for 18 years.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was a son of the late Daleton and Laura Armitage Plattenburg.

Surviving are his wife, the former Rose DeFranco; a brother, Robert of East Stroudsburg R.D. 4, and two sisters, Mrs. Gordon Stettler and Mrs. Newton Cramer, both of East Stroudsburg.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home, East Stroudsburg. Interment will be in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.

He graduated from East Stroudsburg High School in 1954, and from Pennsylvania State University in 1958. At the time of his death, he had work for Borden International Chemical Co. for 18 years and was executive vice president. He was in charge of all foreign operations and was a lecturer and toastmaster for Borden. He was a member of the New York City Health & Racket Club, and was a former
member of the Elks Club of Rutherford.

Rose De Franco [Parents] was born on 10 Aug 1922 in Roseto, Northampton Co., PA. She died on 17 Apr 2012 in Bangor, Northampton Co., PA and was buried on 21 Apr 2012 in New Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Roseto, Northampton Co., PA. Rose married Barry Frederick Plattenburg.

Rose D. Plattenburg, 89, of Bangor passed away on Tuesday, April 17th at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born: August 10, 1922 in Roseto, a daughter of the late Dominick and Marie Camilletti DeFranco.

Personal: Her beloved husband Barry Plattenburg died in 1979. Rose was a seamstress in the garment industry in the Slate Belt area for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. Her faith was very important to her and she was a kind and generous person. Memberships: She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Roseto and also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Martocci-Capobianco American Legion Post 750 of Roseto.

Survivors: She is survived by her brother, Dr. Albert DeFranco of Nazareth; and two sisters, Helen Maiorello of Merrimack, New Hampshire and Jennie Steinmetz of North Bangor; many nieces and nephews. Her brothers, Dominick, Daniel, Frank, Paul and Anthony and sisters, Clementine Svirsovsky, Lucy Horn and Mamie Smith all died earlier.

Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 21st at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Third & Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. Call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home, 230 Market St., Bangor. Burial will be in the New Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Roseto. Kim R. Plattenburg Sr., 64, of East Stroudsburg, went to heaven to be with his mother on her birthday, Jan. 9, 2017.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1952, in East Stroudsburg and was the son of the late William and Lorraine (Kammer) Plattenburg. He was the husband of Joann Plattenburg, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children: Kim Plattenburg Jr., Roger "Butch" Slocum, Holly Gilliland, David Slocum and Tracy Fuller; his special caregiver, Kathy Halterman; and 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother and best friend, William Plattenburg; sisters Nancy Nordmark and Joan Kresge; and many nieces and nephews.

Kim was an avid Eagles fan, always seen wearing his Eagles cap. He enjoyed doing puzzles and sudoku books. He was employed for many years with Asplundh Tree Service. Predeceasing him were a daughter, Christine Halterman; a granddaughter, Crystal Fuller; and his best bud, Stretch.

His wish was to be cremated with no services, but to help defray the cost of this, a monetary donation may be made to Darbi Dunning, 104 E. Broad St., East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
