He died on 22 Mar 1995 in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, Monroe Co., PA and was buried on 25 Mar 1995 in Delaware Water Gap Cemetery, Delaware Water Gap, Monroe Co., PA. Clair married Edna M. Plattenburg.

Clair J. Singer, 77, of Delaware Water Gap died Wednesday in Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of the late Edna M. (Plattenburg) Singer.

He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, working out of the Stroudsburg Post Office for more than 22 years until retiring. Before that he worked at the Gulf gas station and part time at Bender's Garden, both in Stroudsburg.

Singer also was a former firefighter for the Delaware Water Gap Volunteer Fire Company.

Born in Reeders, he was a son of the late Earl and Emma (Doll) Singer.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors: Daughter, Lavinia E. Clarkson of Stroudsburg; sons, Jack E. in Georgia and James E. of Bangor, and 11 grandchildren.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg. Call 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Edna M. Plattenburg [Parents] was born on 15 Jun 1925 in Delaware Water Gap, Monroe Co., PA. She died on 10 Feb 1990 in Delaware Water Gap, Monroe Co., PA and was buried on 13 Feb 1990 in Delaware Water Gap Cemetery, Delaware Water Gap, Monroe Co., PA. Edna married Clair J. Singer.

EDNA M. SINGER
Edna M. Singer, 64, of Delaware Water Gap, PA, died Saturday in her home.

She worked as a waitress at Howard Johnson restaurant in Delaware Water Gap for the past seven years, and before that, she worked as a waitress and cook for more than 10 years at Heaters Store, Delaware Water Gap. She was also a cook at the Mountain House in Delaware Water Gap for four years.

Born in Delaware Water Gap, she was a daughter of the late Stanley and Kathryn Plattenburg Bush. She was a lifelong resident of Delaware Water Gap.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Mountain in Delaware Water Gap.

She is survived by her husband Clair T. Singer; a daughter, Lavinia E. Clarkson of Stroudsburg R.D. 1; two sons, Jack Singer of Georgia and James Singer of Bangor; two stepbrothers, Stanley Bush of Woodbridge, Va., and Kenneth Bush of East Stroudsburg R.D. 3; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home in East Stroudsburg. Interment will be in the Delaware Water Gap Cemetery.

(Note: Edna's mother was Kathryn Plattenberg. The name of her father is unknown. Edna was born on 10 February 1925. Kathryn Plattenberg married Stanley Bush, Edna's step-father, in 1943)
