Melvin H. Bartron, 75, of 3234 Georgian Lane, Bethlehem Township, formerly of Pen Argyl, died yesterday in Allentown Hospital.An engineer of the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England Railroad, he retired in 1969. He was a member of Mackey Memorial Baptist Church, Bangor.
Born in Bangor R.D. 3, he was a son of the late Samuel and Anna Weiss Bartron. His wife, the former Edna Plattenberg, died in 1970.
Surviving are two sons, Wayne of Newton, NJ; and Donald of Brockton, Mass.; two stepsons, Robert Rissmiller, Nazareth and Roy Rissmiller, Wind Gap; two stepdaughters, Mrs. William Cron, with whom he lived; and Mrs. Stewart Bush, Nazareth R.D. 3; 34 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
