Albert Hartman Gettle [Parents] was born on 4 Nov 1866 in South Lebanon Twp., Lebanon Co., PA. He died on 3 Nov 1941 in Lebanon Co., PA and was buried on 6 Nov 1941 in Cornwall Cemetery, Cornwall, Lebanon Co., PA. Albert married Laura Emma "Ellie" Weik on 24 Nov 1888 in Lebanon, Lebanon Co., PA.

"Lebanon Daily News":
Albert H. Gettle, 73, of 260 S. 8th St., died this morning at 9:45 o'clock, at his residence. His death, from complications, followed an extensive illness. He was bedfast for the past four weeks and was ill since last August.

Mr. Gettle began work as an employee of the Cornwall Ore Bank Co., and was then promoted to the train crews where he spent a number of years, but resigned in 1908 to accept a position as a brakeman on the Cornwall Railroad. He was later promoted to conductor of one of the trains where he served until he met with an accident resulting in the loss of his left arm in 1929. Mr. Gettle then served in minor capacities on the railroad until his retirement in 1932.

A member of the Centenary Methodist Church, he was also affiliated with the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainman as president, and with the Knights of the Mystic Chain, Rexmont.

In addition to his wife, Laura E., nee Weik; two daughters, Irene, wife of Alan Babb, of Lebanon; and Ruth S., at home; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Walter G. Bleistine, of Lebanon, also survive.

The funeral was held from Arnold's Funeral Home, Lebanon, for Albert H. Gettle, husband of Laura E. Weik Gettle, of 260 S. 8th. St., this city. The pastor of Centenary Methodist Church supervised the service. Relatives and friends were pallbearers, and interment was in the Cornwall Cemetery.

Allen A. Babb, 73, 14 South Eleventh Street, died Monday at Good Samaritan hospital after a long illness.

He was born in Lebanon County, a son of the late Harry A. and Elizabeth Tillberry Babb. His wife, Irene V. Gettle Babb, died March 28, 1958.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, and was a retired railroad brakeman, having been employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad.

He is survived by one daughter, Eleanor Babb, at home; and two brothers, Clarence, of Lebanon; and Samuel, of DeSoto, MO.

"Lebanon Daily News"
Paul E. Gettle, aged 37 years, of 829 Locust Street, died last night at 10:30 oclock, following a period of illness covering the past several months. A hemhorrhage of the neck caused by injuries received in an automobile accident in June of this year, while enroute to Diehl's Island, Delaware, on a fishing trip with several other local men, was the cause of death. Shortly following the accident, Gettle had to have one eye removed. He underwent several operations in Lebanon and Philadelphia since that time and has been confined to his bed for the entire period of illness.

He was employed by the City Highway Department and was a member of the Trinity U. B. Church, and the Union Fire Company, where he was the chief engineer, and was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Besides his widow, Lillian, four children survive: Carl, Paul, Lester and Marian, all at home. Also surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert H. Gettle; and two sisters, Mrs. Alan Babb and Miss Ruth Gettle.

Rev. B. F. Daugherty, pastor of the Trinity U. B. Church, Ninth and Willow Sts. officiated at services this afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, for the late Paul Gettle of 829 Locust Street.Services were held in the church. Members of the Union Fire Co. and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, acted as pallbearers. Many floral tokens from relatives and friends surrounded the casket in which the body rested as it was viewed by many people. Burial took place at the Cornwall Cemetery.

Mrs. Lillian M. Gettle, of 15 Jefferson Ave., Myerstown, died this morning in the Lebanon County Hospital after a long illness. Aged 69, she was the widow of Paul E. Gettle.

Daughter of the late William and Lizzie Beard Putt, she was a member of Trinity Evangelical United Brethren Church.

She was a former employee of the laundry at the Good Samaritan Hospital.

She is survived by a daughter, Marian, wife of Charles Biever, Lebanon; and three sons, Carl and Paul, both of Lebanon, and, Lester of Myerstown; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Gardner and Mrs. Grace Ziegler both of Lebanon; two brothers, William Putt, Bunker Hill, and Dallas Putt, Roselle, NJ; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Burial site is in Cornwall Cemetery.
