ROBERT ALFRED NEILEY, SR. 98, of Durell, Asylum Township, Towanda RR 2, PA, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 26, 1997, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.Born Nov. 14, 1898, in Asylum Township, Bradford County, PA, he was a son of the late Jerome B. Neiley and Jennie (Stevens) Neiley.
Alfred attended school in Durell and at the SCI in Towanda. At the end of World War I, he was employed in the manufacturing of airplane engines in Hornell, NY. He was later employed for a time loading barges from railway cars in Perth Amboy, NJ.
On January 24, 1923, he married the former Catharine Agnes Brennan at Saints Peter and Paul Church, in Towanda, and subsequently moved to Standing Stone, PA, where they made their home and also owned and operated their general store for 17 years. Mr. Neiley also drove school buses in the Standing Stone area for several years and was employed by the Ingersoll Rand in Athens. In 1938, Alfred and Catherine purchased Alfred's parents' farm in Durell, PA, which they operated for many years. His wife, Catherine Agnes (Brennan) Neiley, predeceased him on June 20, 1980. After discontinuing dairy farming, Alfred continued to raise cattle until he was age 87. Mr. Neiley enjoyed the outdoors hunting, fishing and planting evergreen and hardwood trees. In early years, he was active in area politics and was a charter member of the Asylum Grange.
Two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia (Neiley) Stephenson and Kenneth Stephenson of Towanda, PA, and Marjorie Diane (Neiley) Hulslander and John Edgar Hulslander of West Burlington, PA, two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. Neiley and Mary Neiley of Standing Stone and James A. Neiley and Lois Neiley of Bangor, PA, 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ruth Neiley of Towanda, PA, and Amelia (Neiley) Dunbar of Rochester, NY, two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Nelson Neiley and Evelyn Neiley of Saco, PA, two sisters-in-law, Katherine Neiley of French Asylum, PA, and Harriet Neiley of Athens, PA, several nieces, nephews and cousins survived him.
His parents, Jerome Bonsaparte Neiley, Sr. and Jeanie (Stevens) Neiley, his sister, Rachel Neiley, his three brothers, Stephen Radcliffe Neiley Sr., David Charles Neiley and Jerome Bonsaparte Neiley, Jr., predeceased him. The funeral services were held on March 28, 1997, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home in Towanda, PA, with the Rev. Allen Hulslander, pastor of the First United Methodist Church. KENNETH D. ‘DENNY' STEPHENSON, 71, of 514 Second St., Towanda, PA, passed away Saturday morning, March 16, 2002, following a brief illness.Born June 21, 1930, in Towanda, Bradford County, PA, he was a son of the late Harry A. Stephenson, Sr. and Florence Ellen (Arnold) Stephenson.
Kenneth graduated from Towanda High School, Class of 1948. On June 21, 1952, he married the former Patricia Neiley at Christ Episcopal Church in Towanda, PA. Mr. Stephenson was formerly employed by the 7-UP Bottling Company in Wysox for ten years, Sylvania Electric in Towanda for seventeen years, State Aggregates in Wysox for five years, and Wysox Sand and Gravel for ten years until his retirement. He was a past noble grand for the Wysox IOOF Lodge and was a member of the Towanda Area Senior Citizens. Kenneth enjoyed walking, working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, day trips and shopping. He loved spending time with his family and in earlier years enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His wife of nearly 50 years, Patricia (Neiley) Stephenson, Towanda, PA, two sons, Joseph K. Stephenson, and Jack W. Stephenson, both of Towanda, a brother and sister-in-law, Gordon and Sandra Stephenson of Towanda, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Stephenson of Towanda and Kay Stephenson of Rome, PA, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Marjorie Diane (Neiley) and John Edgar Hulslander of West Burlington, PA, James and Lois Neiley of Bangor, PA., and Robert Albert Neiley, Jr. and Mary Neiley of Standing Stone, PA, and several nieces, nephews and cousins, survived him.

PATRICIA (NEILEY) STEPHENSON, 69, widow of Kenneth D. "Denny" Stephenson and well-known Towanda resident of 7 Mix Ave., died early Wednesday morning, April 2, 2003. Patricia was visiting the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie Diane (Neiley) Hulslander and John Hulslander, in West Burlington, Bradford County, PA, when a fire consumed the residence claiming the lives of Patricia, Marjorie and John.Born April 13, 1933, in Sayre, Bradford County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Alfred Neiley, Sr. and Catherine Agnes (Brennan) Neiley.
Patricia was a graduate of Towanda High School, Class of 1951, and was a former Pennsylvania state laurel queen candidate, representing Towanda. On June 21, 1952, Patricia married Kenneth D. Stephenson at Christ Episcopal Church in Towanda. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years on March 16, 2002. In early years, Patricia was employed by the A&P Market in Towanda. She was later employed by the District Magistrate's Office in Towanda by former Magistrates James Cox and James Powell for many years until her retirement. Patricia was a member of the Towanda Area Senior Citizens and enjoyed volunteer work for the Towanda Elks Lodge. She loved to care for her home and family, cooking, antiques and walking.

Marjorie and John provided loving care for his father, Alfred Allen Hulslander, for many years.
John Edgar Hulslander was born on May 6, 1933 in Burlington, Bradford County, PA, a son of the late Alfred Allen Hulslander and Esther Edith (Weed) Hulslander.
John graduated from Troy High School, Class of 1951. John worked on the Hulslander family farm his entire life and also served as West Burlington Township Supervisor for many years. He was a member of the Troy Fire Department and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge No. 2191, Towanda, PA, and a former director of the Troy Agway. John loved sports, especially softball, as in earlier years, he played on two softball teams. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Penn State fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and friends, hunting, the outdoors and animals.His sister, Edith A. Hulslander of Lakeland, Polk County, FL, a brother-in-law, Richard H. "Doc" Morrell of Pine City, NY; a sister-in-law, Anna Mary Hulslander of Columbia Cross Roads, PA, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James Neiley and Lois Neiley of Bangor, PA, and Robert Alfred Neiley, Jr. and Mary Neiley of Standing Stone, PA, several nieces, nephews and cousins, also survived him.
Two brothers, George Marion Hulslander and Alfred W. Hulslander, and two sisters, Frances (Hulslander) Morrell and Mary Adelaide (Hulslander) Pierce, predeceased him.

She graduated from Towanda High School, class of 1956 and was a former Pennsylvania State Laurel Queen candidate, representing Towanda. On June 14, 1957, she married John Edgar Hulslander at Christ Episcopal Church in Towanda, PA. In early years, Marjorie was employed as a secretary for the GLF in Towanda. She later was employed by the Valley Stock Yards in Athens and served as tax collector for West Burlington Township for 16 years. Marjorie also served as Bradford County Auditor for many years until her retirement. She was an active member and past president of the Bradford County Republican Women and was a delegate to the Pennsylvania State Republican Women. Marjorie was a member of the Troy Fire Department Auxiliary Station No. 2 and worked as a volunteer for the Towanda Elks Lodge. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren and friends and traveling. Marjorie provided loving care for her father-in-law, Alfred Allen Hulslander, for many years.

Lincoln "Linc" Neiley, 91, of Saco, died Wednesday evening, Jan, 30, 2002, at the Skilled Nursing Unit, Memorial Hospital, Towanda.
He was born Feb. 12, 1910, in Sayre, a son of the late Jerome B. and Jennie Stevens Neiley.
Lincoln was a graduate of Towanda High School, where he played football. On July 4, 1942, he married the former Nina Isbell. Lincoln owned and operated his farm in the Saco area for many years until his retirement. He was a 50-year member of F&AM Union Lodge No. 108, Towanda; International Order of Odd Fellows, Lodge No. 1152, Wysox; and a member of the Grange No. 173, Ulster. Lincoln enjoyed reading, bowling, football and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Nina Isbell Neiley; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Betty Neiley of Waverly, N.Y.; daughter, Janice Sturdevant of East Smithfield; grandchildren, Kevin Neiley, Sue Thigpen and Diane Neiley; great-grandchildren; sister, Amelia Dunbar of Rochester, N.Y.; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Neiley of Towanda and Harriet Neiley of Athens; and several nieces, nephews and cousins
He was preceded in death by five brothers, David, Steve Sr., Alfred, Nelson, and J.B. Neiley Jr.; two sisters, Rachel and Ruth Neiley; and son-in-law, Louis Sturdevant.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with Pastor A. Michele Somerville, of the North Towanda United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Ulster Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Union Lodge No. 108, F&AM, will hold Masonic services at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial service from Wysox Lodge No. 1152, IOOF, will follow. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to the charity or organization of one's choice in Lincoln Neiley's memory

Nina Isbell Neiley, 95, of Saco, Towanda RR 1, passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 at the Bradford County Manor in West Burlington Twp., Pa.Nina was born Feb. 10, 1915, in Ulster Twp., Pa., the daughter of the late James and Harriett Simons Isbell.
On July 4, 1942, she married Lincoln "Linc" Neiley and together they owned and operated their farm in Saco for many years. In early years, Nina was employed by the Eclipse in Elmira, N.Y. and was later employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Bradford County Manor. She was a member of the North Towanda United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 76, Towanda and was a former member of the Ulster Grange. Nina loved the outdoors, gardening and caring for her flowers.
She is survived by: her son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Betty Neiley of Fishkill, N.Y.; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and John MacMorran of Towanda RR 1; grandchildren, Kevin Neiley and his wife Deb, Sue Eggleston and Diane Neiley; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Lincoln "Linc" Neiley on Jan. 30, 2002; her adopted brother, Walter Isbell; and son-in-law, Louis Sturdevant.
The funeral and committal service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa. Interment will be in the Ulster Cemetery, Ulster, Pa. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.
