Erma L. (McAdoo) Blattenberger, 80, of Black Lick, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011, at the Keeper of the Flame, Blairsville. A daughter of William E. and Anna Marie (Longenecker) McAdoo, she was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Grafton.Mrs. Blattenberger was a member of the Free Methodist Church, Black Lick.
She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She was the owner of Blattenberger Evergreen Manor, Black Lick, for 26 years.
Surviving are six children, Samuel B. Blattenberger Jr. and wife, Joyce, E. Robert Blattenberger, Barry Blattenberger and wife, Michele, and Douglas Blattenberger, all of Black Lick, Brenda Thomas and friend, Paul Short, of Blairsville, and Sue Ann Bowser and husband, Ray, of Blairsville; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dolores Kitzmiller, of Johnstown, and Lois McGinity and husband, Richard, of Ligonier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel B. Blattenberger Sr., in 1993; a daughter, Marion Cribbs, in 2008; a grandson, Jeffrey A. Blattenberger, in 2005; and a brother, Ernest Robert McAdoo, in 1951.
The family received friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME, Blairsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Fred W. Craig officiating.

Marion Blattenberger Cribbs, 63, of Fredericksburg, formerly of Black Lick, PA, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at her home.The daughter of Erma McAdoo Blattenberger and the late Samuel B. Blattenberger, she was born May 1, 1945, in Indiana County, PA.
Marion graduated from Beaverdale High School in 1962. Prior to 1996, Marion lived in Black Lick and worked in food service for Torrance State Hospital for 12 years, beginning in 1976. She also worked as a cafeteria manager for 12 years for Fredericksburg City schools.
Surviving are her husband, Robert W. Cribbs, whom she married Dec. 18, 1981; her mother, Erma Blattenberger of Black Lick, PA; a son, Michael S. Mihalko and his wife, Marjorie; a daughter, Tammy T. Danek and her husband, Michael, all of Fredericksburg; a stepson, Robert W. Cribbs III of Latrobe, PA; six grandchildren, Christopher Mihalko, Justin Mihalko, Megan Danek, Michelle Danek, Jessica Cribbs and Samantha Cribbs; four brothers, Samuel Blattenberger and his wife, Joyce; Robert Blattenberger, Barry Blattenberger and his wife, Michele, and Douglas Blattenberger, all of Black Lick; and two sisters, Sue Ann Bowser and her husband, Drew, of Blairsville, PA, and Brenda Thomas of Black Lick. She was preceded in death by her father; and a nephew, Jeffrey Blattenberger.
