Word has been received of the death of Christian A. Blottenberger, 71, of Tuckerton, N.J., on April 24 in the Atlantic City Medical Mainland Division, Pomona, N.J., after a long illness. He was the husband of Agnes Miller Blottenberger.Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Charles A. Blottenberger of West Chester and the late Mertie E. Blottenberger.
He was formerly employed by the Girard Trust of Philadelphia, and later worked for Cigarette Vending Corp. of West Chester, retiring in 1968. He was a 1933 graduate of Tredyffrin-Easttown High School. Mr. Blottenberger was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. During World War II, he was stationed at Barnegat, N.J.
Besides his wife and father, he is survived by a sister, Arline Davis of West Chester.
The funeral was held April 28 in Tuckerton where he is buried.

Ruth S. Blattenberger of Burlington passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at the Masonic Home of New Jersey. She was 85. She resided at the Masonic Home since May of 2008.The widow of the late Richard E. Silpath and Frank T. Blattenberger, she is survived by her daughter, Cynthia S. Mudge and her son-in-law, Brian S. Mudge, her daughter, Claudia S. Hullings and her son-in-law, Garry W. Hullings, her son, David F. Blattenberger and her daughter-in-law, Denise M. Blattenberger; and nine grandchildren.
She enjoyed crocheting and making afghans for members of her family and for the needy. Ruth was a volunteer in Burlington. She was a past president of Samuel Smith School's PTA, a nine-year board member of the Home for Aged Women, and a 25-year member and past president of the Friendly. At church, she held many offices over 50 years, i.e. past president of the United Methodist Women, Mission chairperson, secretary to the Administrative Board and member of the Fidelis Bible class. Ruth was a longtime member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church, 36 E. Broad St., Burlington, NJ 08016.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at the Masonic Home of New Jersey Chapel. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the church listed above or to the Masonic Charity Foundation, 902 Jacksonville Road, Burlington, NJ 08016.
