G. Earl Leibert, 56, of 2132 Northampton street, senior apparatus inspector at the Dixie Cup Co., died this morning at Easton Hospital. He was admitted last night, but had been in failing health for some time.Mr. Leibert had been employed by the paper cup firm since January, 1934.
He was the son of Mrs. Emma Leibert, of the Northampton street address, and the late John Leibert.
He was a lifelong resident of this city, and was of the Moravian faith.
Surviving, besides his mother, are his wife, Frances Leibert; seven children, Mrs. Emelyn Haus, of Wilsonl Mrs. Robert Everett, of Easton; and Arlene, Nadine, Earl, Austin and John Leibert, all at home and three grandchildren.

Charles L. Bassett, Sr. lived in the 700 block of Getz Road in Pen Argyl, PA. He was a furnace operator at Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 28 years before retiring in 1969. Mrs. Mary Aleen Matthews Plattenberger, age 81, of Monroe, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at her daughter”s residence.
Mrs. Plattenberger was born on July 4, 1933, in Union County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late John Calhoun Matthews and Lyma Norwood Matthews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Harold Plattenberger, and three brothers, Wilson Matthews, Junior Matthews and Herman Matthews.
She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for the Lord showed in the smile she shared with everyone.
Survivors include three daughters, Delores Sistare and husband Dennis (Doc) Sistare of Monroe, Wanda Brower of Monroe, and Sandy Price and husband Larry Price of Monroe; one brother, Ned Matthews and wife Nadine Matthews of Weddington; two sisters-in-law, Dot Matthews of Weddington, Irene Wilson and husband Doug Wilson of Waxhaw; one brother-in-law, Donald Plattenberger of Newport, Washington. There are six grandchildren, Jimmy Brower and wife Cara Brower of Indian Trail, Jesse Brower and wife Pam Brower of Oakboro, Brent Sistare and wife Lindsey Sistare of Monroe, Cassidy Brazelton and husband Tim Brazelton of Monroe, Melissa Kiser and husband Jonathan Kiser of Monroe and Darryl Price of Cincinnati, OH. There are twelve great grandchildren,and counting.
